Valentine’s Day Gifts for the TauBu Lover

TauBu Girls share their top Valentine's Day gift ideas.

Got your lover a Valentine’s Day gift yet? The TauBu Girls share what they want and what they’re getting their guys for day set aside just for lovers.

TauBu Girl Ginny loves a bit of romantic tradition spiced up with a touch of the wild. She’s hoping for a trip to Jungle Island in South Florida for a few hours of behind-the-scenes mingling with the lions and tigers and bears – Oh, my! Ok, maybe not the lions and tigers and bears, but definitely the red-ruffed lemurs, capuchin monkeys and Andean condors. Street cred earned by coming face-to-face with the cassowary, known as the most legal bird on the planet. Looks a little like an emu but rocks a middle toe claw capable of severing an arm or slicing open an abdomen. Survive that, and you get a romantic champagne lunch overlooking a flamingo exhibit. If you’re nowhere near South Florida, no worries. Lots of zoos and wildlife sanctuaries nationwide offer similar Valentine’s Day events and specials.

TauBu Girl Anna‘s guy is gonna get a big surprise for Valentine’s Day. He has no idea that the two are going to take the plunge. No – not marriage. Extreme sports fan Anna’s arranged for a tandem bungee jumping experience. They’ll embrace each other lovingly while they take an adrenaline-pumping plunge off the side of a bridge with only an elastic cord wrapped around their ankles. Okay, that “loving embrace” might feel more like a full-body death grip. But you can bet the amorous couple will be smiling when it’s over.

TauBu Girl Courtney is a bit of a traditional gal. She wants the flowers, the candlelit dinner, something sparkly and a romantic stroll down some artsy alley. And she’s already picked up a sexy little nightie from the TauBu store online.

Got a sweet, slightly taboo Valentine’s Day gift idea? TauBu wants to hear it. Post your ideas on the TauBu Facebook fan page.

Holiday Gifts for the TauBu Life Lover

Christmas and Hanukkah are right up on us. Have you shopped for your guy or girl yet? If not, the TauBu Girls have a few ideas that are sure to please.

A Christmas gift your signicant other won't forget: A volcano exploration excursion. TauBu Girls offer great gift ideas for those living the extreme life.

  1. Great gear: As a pro surfer, TauBu Girl Christa knows just how important it is to have the right sports gear. And she knows how expensive it all can get. If your guy or girl is an extreme sports athlete or avid outdoors type, a great piece of sporting gear is always appreciated, whether it’s a set of high-end skateboard wheels, that hot new wetsuit or a solar charger for all those portable gadgets.
  2. Event tickets: TauBu Girl Kate-Lynn loves to travel. And what better place to travel to than somewhere that’s hosting an extreme sports event. Make it a fun gift for the both of you and pick up a pair of tickets to the Winter X Games in Aspen in January, Extreme Thing in Las Vegas in March, or any of a full season AMA Supercross events scheduled in California, Arizona, Texas, Missouri, Indiana, Louisiana, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Georgia or Florida from January through May.
  3. Lessons: TauBu Girl Yashira isn’t one to sit on the sidelines. Like the rest of us living the TauBu Life, she loves to be right in the middle of all the action. If your significant other is the same, spring for lessons in a new sport or activity. The two of you can learn to surf, skateboard, wakeboard, rock climb – whatever piques your interest and challenges your physical status quo.
  4. Adventure package: TauBu Girl Rickie is another avid traveler and thrill seeker. And she’s a regular at Cloud 9, an online provider of adventure experiences. Go white water rafting, explore a volcano, fly a fighter jet, bungee off a bridge, learn some Ninja warrior moves, move some dirt with a bulldozer or race a dune buggy across the desert.
  5. Digital camcorder: Every extreme athlete has pulled off a feat he wishes he had on camera. After all, exercising your bragging rights just isn’t the same without the video documentation to back it all up, and a digital camcorder can help do just that, says TauBu Girl Kali.
  6. TauBu swag: No matter where you go, what you do, TauBu Girl Courtney wants you to look hot. So she highly recommends you stop by TauBu’s online store, where you’ll find a full selection of TauBu t-shirts, tank tops and caps for men and women, as well as some taboo little lingerie numbers for the ladies.

Got other great gift ideas for those living the TauBu Life? We want to hear ‘em. Post a comment on our TauBu Facebook fan page.

Ready for Some High Octane Action? Beer Loves & Powerboat Racing Fans Head to Clearwater.

The Bright House Clearwater Super Boat National Championship showcases some of the largest and fastest power boats in the world.

If you love the high octane life style and don’t mind getting wet, we’ve got your Sept. 30-Oct. 2 weekend plans. Makers of TauBu, the newest high octane beer, recommend the Bright House Clearwater Super Boat National Championship race in beautiful Clearwater, FL.

This ain’t your old man’s bass boat on display. We’re talking some of the fastest and largest offshore power boats in the world descending upon the waters off Clearwater Beach. These bad boys are equipped with F-16 jet canopies and hit extreme speeds of up to 180 mph. Add the sometimes rough waters and you’ve got an impossible task for one person. That’s why competing teams are made up of two people – one to control the boat’s steering and a throttleman responsible for operating up to four engines capable of producing more than 6,000 horsepower.

Last year’s event attracted upwards of 65,000 people, including 25,000 people on 2,500 boats lining the beaches of the 2.5 mile race course. And all that high-speed, high-octane fun served a purpose. Several local marine charities focused on providing fun boating and fishing experiences to kids and adults with disabilities or financial constraints.

Are you headed out the races? Keep an eye out. You just may spot one of the TauBu Girls. TauBu Girl Jolyne is a bit of a speed demon herself and TauBu Girl Courtney loves a day at the beach – any beach. Be sure to snap pics and upload them to the TauBu Facebook fan page.

TauBu Celebrates Toe Wiggling, Bad Poetry, Zucchini Pranks and Angels in August

How will you celebrate "Be an Angel Day?" TauBu wants to know!

Each month boasts a list of nationally recognized-but-little known and sometimes odd observations. Makers of TauBu, the best new beer on the market, are loving August’s list of bizarre holidays. Pop the top on a can of your favorite TauBu flavor and make celebratory plans.

August is:

  • Admit You’re Happy Month – We sure are!
  • National Catfish Month – Check our next blog for a delish TauBu beer-battered catfish recipe.
  • Peach Month – The next new TauBu flavor, perhaps? See our Facebook fan page wall to vote and comment.
  • Romance Awareness Month – Shouldn’t every month be Romance Awareness Month?
  • National Picnic Month – Be sure to pack that cooler with plenty of TauBu Evil Apple, Wicked Punch and Midnite Berry.

This month also has some very interesting daily observations. The TauBu Girls’ favorites?…

TauBu Girl Anna loves National Raspberry Cream Pie Day (Aug. 1) and Wiggle Your Toes Day (Aug. 6). “Dig your toes into the soft beach sand or dangle them in the pool while enjoying a big ole’ slice of raspberry cream pie with a cold Midnite Berry. Yum!”

TauBu Girl Yashira loves the aggressive oddity of Sneak Some Zucchini onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Night (Aug. 8). “Apparently, zucchini ripens so fast that farmers are always stuck with way more than they can possibly cook or sell,” Yashira explains. “So people started sneaking baskets of it onto neighbor’s porches because they literally couldn’t give it away. Actually, I’d rather hide in the bushes with my own basket of zucchini and use it to pelt anyone trying to unload another bushel on me. Great nighttime target practice.”

TauBu Girl Jolyne is a Bad Poetry Day (Aug. 18) champ. “I admit it – I suck at poetry. Another reason I play football.”

TauBu Girl Courtney can’t wait for Be an Angel Day (Aug. 22) and Kiss and Make Up Day (Aug. 25). “I’m an angel every day. Really, I am. Except sometimes, I’ll pick a fight just to get to the kissing and making up part.”

TauBu Girl Lauren is all about Ride the Wind Day (Aug. 23) and Women’s Equality Day (Aug. 26). “Last year, I bungee jumped off a bridge. This year, I’m hang gliding off the Makapuu Cliffs in Oahu, Hawaii.”

How are you celebrating this month? Let us know. And make sure to enjoy TauBu – the best new beer – while you’re at it.

TauBu Girls’ Great Beer Movie Picks

The 1996 Jon Favreau/Vince Vaughn film "Swingers" is a TauBu pick for great beer movies.

Here at TauBu, we love three things more than anything: beautiful women, great beer and funny movies. So, we popped open a few cans of Evil Apple, Midnite Berry and Wicked Punch and are set to enjoy a movie marathon with the TauBu Girls’ top picks for great beer movies. Here’s what’s on the TauBu marquis (In no particular order)…

TauBu Girl Jolyne’s great beer movie pick: “Swingers” (1996)
Mike (Jon Favreau) breaks up with his six-year sweetheart and heads to LA to make it in the movies. But he can’t get a break – in film or with the LA women. And he misses his girl. So his best friend Trent (Vince Vaughn) and company make it their business to help get Mike some play while drinking it up and cuttin’ a fool in the neo-hipster underground lounge scene. Says Vaughn in one of a-few-too-many lines apparently designed to launch a new catchphrase, “You’re so money and you don’t even know it!”

TauBu Girl Anna’s great beer movie pick: “The Hangover II” (2011)
All Stu wanted was a nice, respectable bachelor brunch and a quiet night on the beach drinking a few beers and roasting marshmallows before his wedding in Thailand. What he got was a rude awakening in a seedy Bangkok apartment, a shaved head, a tattoo, cocaine-dealing money with a missing finger, a kidnapped Buddhist monk and a missing future brother-in-law. Good times.

TauBu Girl Courtney’s great beer movie pick: “Smokey and the Bandit” (1977)
On a dare, Bandit and Cletus pick up a truckload of beer and a hitchhiking bride-to-be who just left her groom at the altar. Turns out said groom is the son of Sheriff Buford T. Justice. The plot takes the whole bunch of ‘me on a high-speed run across the Southeast and owes so much of its story to beer that it wouldn’t make sense if you tried to edit the booze out. Classic comedy.

TauBu Girl Anna’s great beer movie pick: “National Lampoon’s Animal House” (1978)
Beer. Toga parties. Beer. John Belushi in a pirate suit. And more beer. What’s not to love?

TauBu Girl Lauren’s great beer movie pick: “Three Little Beers” (1935)
Larry, Curly and Moe take jobs as deliverymen at a brewery, but sneak a little time on the greens to practice for a company golf tournament. Before you know it, the golf course is destroyed, the three make a run for it in their beer truck and, as they say, hilarity ensues. Seriously – what better cinematic mix than the Three Stooges and beer? It’s less than 20 minutes long (see it on YouTube), but ranks right up there with the best beer flicks ever.

What’s your favorite beer flick? Leave us a comment or post on the TauBu Facebook fan page. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer for one of the latest, greatest drinkin’ movies…

Mmmm… Taubu Girl Courtney Cooks Up Some Premium Malt Liquor Chicken!

TauBu Girl Courtney's Evil Apple premium malt liquor grilled chicken will rock your next potluck.

Got dinner plans yet? TauBu Girl Courtney has a delectable idea for you – premium malt liquor grilled chicken.  A little sweet, a little tangy, this savory dish will have you asking for seconds. And thirds. And secretly wishing that you hadn’t invited the neighbor kid over for dinner when you go back for fourths and realize it’s all gone.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 4-to-6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 16 ounces of your choice of TauBu Evil Apple, Midnite Berry or Wicked Punch premium malt liquor
  • 2 tablespoons of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of vegetable or olive oil

Here’s what you do:

Marinate the chicken in half the TauBu premium malt liquor overnight. When your stomach is rumbling, take it out of the fridge and fire up the grill to high heat. Combine the salt, pepper and sugar and rub it into the chicken. Drizzle the remaining TauBu over the chicken and brush each piece with oil. Plop it on the grill and turn when several times. Grill it until piercing produces no pink, then cool and serve.

“I like it best made with Evil Apple and served up with a side of my grandma’s apple salad and a big ol’ dish of apple cobbler and vanilla ice cream,” Courtney says. “When I use Wicked Punch, I pair it with a Mediterranean potato salad and fresh fruit or sherbet for dessert. And the Midnite Berry chicken is yum, yum, yum with grape salad and summer raspberry cake.”

Make it for the fam this weekend or rock your next office potluck and show up that bossy little casserole-loving admin assistant who’s got her eye on the promotion you want too.

TauBu Girl Courtney Says “Happy Mother’s Day”

Happy Mother's Day from TauBu!

Hey everyone out there. TauBu Girl Courtney, here. I just want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there: The natural moms; the adoptive moms; the stepmoms; the foster moms; the grandmoms and godmoms; the expectant moms; the not-yet-but-maybe-someday moms; the working moms and the stay-at-home moms; the pearls-and-pumps moms; the SUV-driving soccer moms; and the tattooed, motorcycle-riding moms; and the big sisters and aunts and family friends who step in and do double duty as moms.

Hope you’ll all do right by your moms this weekend. I’ve got a big bouquet of flowers on its way to my mom. Gonna get together with all the family for a day at the beach and a dinner cruise. What’s on your Mother’s Day agenda? Whatever you’ve got planned, make it special.

From all of us at TauBu, if you’re a mom, you rock! Enjoy your day.

TauBu’s New High Alcohol Beers a Great Spring Break Choice – Just Don’t Overdo It!

TauBu Girl Courtney says, "Don't be this girl!" Drink responsibly during Spring Break.

Hey TauBu fans – Courtney here!

I’m thrilled to be taking a break from college studies and heading out to the Florida Keys for Spring Break 2011. Of course, I’ll be taking along a cooler full of TauBu – Midnite Berry is my fave these days. I know you’ll be partying too, but seriously – let’s keep it safe out there. No reason to spoil a great time by being that obnoxious drunk who puts a downer on the whole mood and creates a potentially dangerous situation. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Don’t overdo it. Know how much alcohol you can hold and stop when it’s time to stop. Remember that TauBu has a higher alcohol content than a lot of drinks out there, so you’ll want to pace yourself. Have a bottle of water between drinks and know how you’ll refuse when someone offers you one drink to many.

Designate a driver. Really, this should be a no-brainer by now. But everyone loves to party. One great way to handle this is to rotate designated drivers nightly, so everyone in your group of Spring Breakers shares both the responsibility and the fun.

Know the consequences. The University of Wisconsin did a study a while back that showed 75 percent of college guys and 43.6 percent of college women reported being drunk daily during Spring Break and nearly half got intoxicated to the point of throwing up or passing out at least once during the week.  Seriously – how much fun can you have passed out on the bathroom floor? And ladies – it’s crucial for you to be aware of everything going on around you.

I’d really rather see you out on the dance floor or on the beach than stuck in your hotel room with a massive hangover or – worse – at the hospital or in jail. So from all of us at TauBu (America’s best new high alcohol beverage!) have a safe-but-sensational Spring Break!

XO, Courtney

Meet Courtney: March 2011 TauBu Girl

March 2011 TauBu Girl Courtney, a sweet Southern girl who's good with a gun.

Valdosta, Ga.-raised Courtney has a sweet southern drawl that drips like honey and a look that reminds us of something a wise philosopher (Kenny Chesney) once said: “Southern girls are God’s gift to the entire male population. There is absolutely no woman finer than one raised below the Mason-Dixon Line and once you go southern, may the good Lord help you – you never go back.”

We agree wholeheartedly. Courtney, the March 2011 TauBu Girl, won us over with a look that any woman on either side of the Mason-Dixon would envy;  a personality and wit that makes even those who envy her like her; and a talent that few women can boast. Much like “CSI: Miami” character Calleigh Duquesne (played by Emily Procter) – another gorgeous blond with a sweet southern sound – she’s good with a gun.

So good, in fact, that she’s a champion competition skeet shooter. And a bit of a historian, apparently. Did you know that during World War II, the military used skeet shooting to teach gunners how to lead and time a flying target? Neither did we, until we met Courtney, who by the way, rocked our Daytona Beach Bike Week tent and attracted a lot of attention. Now, you tell us – What’s sexier than a hot blonde packing heat? Nothing – that’s what. And that’s why Courtney is the newest, tabooest TauBu Girl.
